Mackenzie is a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, recording artist, bandleader and teacher based in Etobicoke, ON. Mackenzie graduated with honours from the Bachelor of Music Degree Program at Humber College as a vocal major. She had the privilege of studying under some of the top musicians in Canada, most notably Rik Emmett (Triumph) who instructed her in songwriting.
As an artist and musician, Mackenzie works primarily in the Country Music scene in Canada. In 2019 she was nominated for “Roots Artist of the Year” at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards for her EP Dive Bar Diva , which features renowned producer Ken Scott (David Bowie/ Duran Duran) who commented “watch out Carrie Underwood” after working with Mackenzie on her single Should Have Known. In lieu of the recent nomination, Mackenzie found herself claiming emerging artist slots on many of country music’s favourite stages, including Boots and Hearts, Havelock Jamboree, Lucknow’s Music in The Fields and Country Wild Fest; who’s founder Matt Williams referred to her as “the best female voice in Canadian country music”.
Mackenzie has an incredible passion for inspiring creativity in others through music. Her teaching skills include voice, guitar, piano, songwriting and performance and cares deeply about providing an educational foundation for students to create musical self expression from.
