Kyle Windjack is a Canadian jazz trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, arranger and composer with eclectic interests and an artistic concept that is constantly evolving yet remains grounded in a rich musical heritage. His playing and compositions draw heavily from various periods of jazz and classical music as well as hip-hop, rock, electronic and avant-garde styles. Growing up throughout the Niagara region, Kyle found his first musical inspiration upon discovering a love for classic rock music including Jimmi Hendrix and the Beatles. He began to teach himself how to play guitar and it wasn’t long before learning new songs by ear occupied all of his free time. His informal training continued until high school when he was exposed to the music of Miles Davis among other jazz great which promptly shifted his focus from guitar to trumpet. He went on to pursue Jazz trumpet at Humber College and has had the opportunity to learn from some of North America’s foremost jazz musicians including Al Kay, Kirk MacDonald, Charlie Porter and Nancy Walker with whom he is currently studying jazz piano.

Kyle has several years of teaching experience and enjoys guiding the development of students of all experience levels and styles. Kyle believes that with proper guidance and dedication, playing music should be easy and enjoyable. Kyle patient and accommodating with his students, yet he consistently pushes them to the brink of their current capabilities causing them to grow their musicianship.
