Dan Pitt – guitar/piano + vice- administrator

dan-pitt-photoDan Pitt is a guitarist, composer and arranger based in Toronto. He holds a Music Performance Degree from the University of Toronto.

Along with his formal education in music, Dan has an impressive 10 year background of private studies under the guidance of notable musicians/teachers Bob Shields, David Restivo, Geoff Young and Brad Shepik.  As a performer, he has worked with Pat Collins, David Braid, Terry Promane, Michael Attias, Michael Formanek, and as a session player, he appears on recordings with various Canadian groups including Hamilton All Star Jazz Band and the University of Toronto 12tet.  

Dan’s teaching experience includes private guitar and piano lessons, as well as both solo and ensemble instruction for brass, woodwind and percussion instruments.  He is one of Yellow Dog’s main instructors and as well, has recently been appointed the position of vice-administrator of daily operations in the ‘doghouse’.   Dan’s long-standing enthusiasm and dedication to his career as a musician is reflected in his commitment and loyalty to his role as teacher and administrator at Yellow Dog Music.
